Geneva is a beautiful Swiss city located at the point of Lake Leman, nestled between the Alps and the Jura mountains. Geneva is Switzerland's most cosmopolitan city with the headquarters of the Europe's United Nations based here as well as other international organisations.
Touristic activities
The old town is one of the most beautiful areas of Geneva between its medieval heritage and beloved legends. Some key places to visit in the old town:
• St Pierre's Cathedral built in the 12th century where you can climb to the top of the tower with its panoramic views
• Place du Bourg-de-Four Geneva's oldest square perfect for a drink in the cosy atmosphere of the old town
• Secret passages through which to explore the old city
There a few must sees when visiting Geneva such as:
• The Jet d'Eau rising 145 meters into the air is a key feature of this city
• Jardin Anglais with its large flower clock is a symbol of the Geneva watch industry
• Mont Saleve which, although in France, can be accessed by cable car to an altitude of 1100m to see the outstanding vistas of the lake and surrounding mountains.
